How to make a cup of tea – StrodeTV

This video shows how to make a simple cup of tea. It features mainly close up POV shots which sets up an intimate atmosphere. The video opens with steady background music, which repeats throughout, and a close up down pan shot of a hand taking a mug out of a cupboard, which immediately focuses your attention on the object. It then features an edited zoom transition to a close up shot of a kettle being filled. This is accompanied by edited text explaining the steps, and this continues throughout. An edited down shine transition leads to another close up shot of the kettle being turned on, which is followed by a slow zoom in shot with jump cuts. This starts with the cup in the foreground and the kettle boiling in the background, however it then cuts to a close up shot of the kettle still boiling, and it begins to slowly zoom back out. A quick zoom transition cuts to a close up right to left pan of the hand opening a jar slowly, and then cuts to a birds eye view shot of the inside of the jar, and the hand takes out a tea bag and pulls it up to cover the camera, making the end of the shot black. This cuts to another close up high shot of the mug and the hand drops the teabag inside. It then cuts to an eye level shot of the mug and the hand pours the hot water inside from above. A cut leads to a worms eye shot from inside the mug, creating the illusion of being inside. A zoom transition takes us to a close up shot of the fridge door, and a hand enters from the right to open it. As the door opens, the camera zooms in on the milk carton, making it the main focus of the shot. That cuts to a higher shot of the bottle, and the hand takes it out of the fridge, which the camera follows with a left to right pan. The same shot of the fridge door opening is then reversed and reused to show the door closing. We are then shown the mug again in a close up shot, and a spoon takes out the tea bag with a rewind half way through the shot. An high close up then shows the milk being poured into the mug, and the camera zooms in closer to the tea inside. A ripple transition the cuts to a similar high close up of a spoon slowly stirring the tea and the camera zooms in once again, and a quick jump cut shows the spoon being tapped on the side of the mug. A close up shows the hand picking up the cup of tea, and then the final shot is a birds eye view of the tea, and the hand moves it up closer to the camera as if we are drinking it. The shot then fades to black, and the video ends.
